1st Question: it doesnt ask for VIN number or model, so is there just one standard generic software for all mini. I went to the mini sofware website & chose option to download software. They're supposed to be "certified", but who knows. crobson1969 said: Hi everyone, Thought i would check & try downloading the latest software for my new MCS, Built March 2014. I think right now we're using an old Apple cable and I had replaced it with a new Amazon one.
Bmw idrive update .bin pdf#
The related PDF however includes the versions stated above, and as they're newer than the ones I had my the car, I ignored this info and performed the update without issues. > entered last 7 digits VIN -> states this update (UPD05081) is only valid for cars with production date between Nov 2012 and Feb 2013. HN (didn't show at the time) -> 003.255.080īmw.com/update -> entered all 17 digits VIN -> stated car was up to date. At first it would still work depending on how I held it but in the end it didn't matter anymore, same problems as you describe.Ībout UPD05081: downloaded the package from the German BMW website(*) and updated:

there is no trace of MX SOFTWARE SUPPORT FOR EXTERNAL DEVICES. I checked my current version but there is only TX. BIN file from the BMW update website with my VIN number but after put the USB in the car its not working.

The problem started with an Apple OEM cable that got squeezed between the armrest a couple of times. I got a E90 2011 and I want to update the version of my iDrive. Had the same issues (MY 2015), and for me it did turn out to be the lightning cable: only a (new) Apple OEM cable works, a new non-OEM cable has the same problem. I thought that may have been the issue, but, it still does it.
